In the aftermath of a shipwreck, an intelligent robot called Roz is stranded on an uninhabited island. To survive the harsh environment, Roz bonds with the island's animals and cares for an orphaned baby goose.

Trivia: According to Peter Brown, author of the book on which the film is based, the inspiration for The Wild Robot came from a sketch he did of a robot in a tree. He then asked the question "What would an intelligent robot do in the wilderness?"

Phil’s review: Anyone who’s been delighted by the animations created by film studios since Pixar’s Bug’s Life (1998) will feel right at home in this gorgeously rendered original story crafted by Dreamworks.
Delivering a moving message around the power of collaboration, the plot resonates with us grown-ups as much as it’s bound to inspire and delight younger viewers. Bellingen Shire is blessed with an abundance of natural environments and humans that care for their continuing health and harmony. How good would it be if robots joined the cause?
